Digital Succession Planning

Your life is online. Make sure the people you love can reach it.

DigitalSuccessor helps you organize your digital life — accounts, devices, and final wishes — so the people you trust can access what they need, exactly when they should. Nothing sooner. Nothing lost.

The problem no one plans for

Most estate plans stop at the front door of your digital life.

Your photos, your accounts, your subscriptions, the documents that prove what you own — they live behind passwords your family may never find. Banks and tech companies don’t make access easy, and the law around it is changing fast. The result is families locked out at the worst possible moment.

We fix that — calmly, in plain language, and built around one principle: you keep your keys.

How we help

A clear, three-part approach.

1

Assess

We inventory your digital life and review how your wishes are set up — then hand you a plain-language report. We never ask for your passwords.

2

Remediate

We put the safeguards in place — platform legacy tools, a sealed recovery kit, and alignment with your will or trust — done with you and your attorney.

3

Maintain

Life changes. Once a year we re-check everything, and any time in between you have a real person to call.

Our promise

“You hold the keys. Always. We make sure your plan works without ever holding your secrets — our access ends when the session does, by math, not by promise.”

That is the difference between a vault that stores your passwords and a plan that protects your family. We verify that everything is in place, then we step back. The keys stay with you.

We work with your advisors, not around them

Built to complement your attorney and planner.

If you have an estate attorney or financial advisor, we make their work hold up in the places it can’t reach — the accounts and platform settings that increasingly govern your digital estate.

Ready to protect what you’ve built?

The first step is a simple conversation — no passwords, no account numbers, no obligation.

How it works

Done with you. Renewed every year as life changes.

A clear, three-part engagement that turns a pile of accounts and passwords into a plan your family can actually follow.

1

Assessment

We take inventory of your digital life — the accounts, the devices, where things live — and review how your wishes are currently set up. You receive a plain-language findings report and a clear set of recommendations.

We never ask for your passwords. We document what you have and where it lives — never the secrets that open it.

2

Remediation

If you’d like, we put the safeguards in place — with you, at your pace:

• The legacy tools the major platforms already offer (Google Inactive Account Manager, Apple and Facebook Legacy Contacts).
• A sealed recovery kit, lodged with your attorney or safe-deposit box and referenced in your will.
• Alignment between your digital directives and your will or trust, so they actually agree.
• Sensible identity and credit protections.

We coordinate with your estate attorney — not around them.

3

Maintenance

Life changes — new accounts, new wishes, new family, new rules from the platforms. Once a year we re-check everything to catch the drift, and any time in between you have a real person to call.

The part that matters most

You keep your keys. We verify the plan — not your secrets.

There’s a quiet but important fact about your digital estate: the settings you make directly with the major platforms can legally override your will. If they don’t match your estate documents, your wishes can fail without anyone noticing.

So we make them match — and we confirm everything is in place using an attestation checklist, never a vault of your master passwords. Our access ends when the session does — by math, not by promise.

Who we serve

For people who built something — and want it to pass on cleanly.

DigitalSuccessor is for households that have spent a lifetime building a life, and want to make sure the digital half of it reaches the next generation intact.

You’ll feel at home here if…

  • You’re retired or planning for it, and you want genuine peace of mind.
  • You have meaningful assets and a digital footprint that has quietly grown complicated.
  • You’ve thought, “If something happened to me, my family wouldn’t know where to start.”
  • You’d rather have this done with you, in plain English, than wrestle an app on your own.

We come to you. We move at your pace. And we never bury you in jargon — that’s a promise.

We serve your family, too

When the time comes, your people aren’t left guessing.

The whole point is what happens later: the trusted person you choose can reach what they need, at the moment they’re meant to — and not a day before. Executors, adult children, and chosen contacts inherit a clear plan instead of a locked phone and a shoebox of passwords.

Is this right for your family?

Let’s find out together. A short, no-pressure conversation is the best place to start.

For attorneys, planners & CPAs

The gap between the estate plan and the platforms.

You build the plan. We make sure it executes in the places the law can’t reach — the accounts, devices, and platform settings that increasingly govern your client’s digital estate.

Why a referral here protects your client — and you.

The platforms can override the will.

Under today’s digital-asset rules, the legacy and portal settings a client makes directly with Google, Apple, and others can take precedence over the will or trust. If they don’t match the estate documents, the plan fails quietly. We inventory and align them.

Zero-knowledge by design.

Clients hold their own keys at every tier. We verify structures, not secrets — an attestation checklist, not a vault of your client’s passwords. That is the liability story your client (and you) should want.

We stay in our lane.

DigitalSuccessor advises; the client owns execution; remediation is done with your office, not around it. We are not a law firm and we don’t practice law — we make your instructions executable.

Maintenance catches the drift.

New accounts, changed heirs, vendors changing their rules — an annual re-assessment keeps the digital directives aligned with the documents you drafted.

“There are apps for this — fine for a self-sufficient 45-year-old. Your 75-year-old client with generational wealth needs it done with them, verified, and maintained. That’s us.”

Become a referral partner.

We work hand-in-hand with estate attorneys, financial planners, and CPAs. Your clients get white-glove execution; you get a dependable partner who respects the boundary between advice and practice.

About us

We built this the way we’d want it done for our own parents.

DigitalSuccessor started with a simple frustration: too many families get locked out of their loved ones’ digital lives at the worst possible moment. We decided to fix it — patiently, in plain language, and built on trust.

What we believe

Trust is the whole product.

This work only matters if you can trust the people doing it. So we built DigitalSuccessor around restraint: we organize and verify your digital estate, we coordinate with the advisors you already rely on, and we never hold the secrets that open your accounts. We do for your family exactly what we’d want done for ours.

Let’s talk.

We’d be glad to walk you through how this works and whether it’s a fit for your family.
